Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

BiodataMakers ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at biodatamakers.online, a free online tool that helps people create marriage biodatas. For any privacy question or request, you can reach us at info@biodatamakers.online. We act as the data controller for the limited information described in this policy.

2. The information you enter into the tool

To create a biodata you may type in details such as your name, date and place of birth, time of birth, height, complexion, religion, caste, gotra, Rashi and Nakshatra, education, occupation, income, family background, hobbies, partner expectations, and contact details, and you may upload a photograph. Some of this is sensitive personal information, and we treat it with the seriousness it deserves.

Where it goes: everything you type or upload is processed locally, inside your browser. So your progress is not lost if the page reloads, it is saved temporarily in your browser's own session storage, on your device only. It is never transmitted to us, and it is cleared automatically when you close the tab or clear your browser data. Your photograph is used solely to place it inside your chosen template on your screen; it is never uploaded to any server of ours.

3. What we never do

• We never store your biodata, name, photo, or family details on any server we control.
• We never require an account, an email address, or any registration to use the tool.
• We never sell, rent, or pass your information to advertisers, data brokers, or matrimonial platforms.
• We never build an advertising or marketing profile of you.
• We never place third-party advertising trackers on the biodata editor.

4. The limited information we do receive

There are only two situations in which any information reaches us:

• When you contact us. If you send a message through our contact form or by email, we receive the name, email address, and message you provide, so that we can read and reply to it. This is delivered to our inbox through a form-delivery service (see section 6).
• Aggregate, non-identifying analytics. Like most websites, we may collect anonymous, aggregate usage data, such as which pages are visited, approximate region, and general device or browser type, to understand what is useful and improve the site. This never includes the contents of your biodata and is not used to identify you.

5. Cookies and local storage

We keep cookies to a minimum and use none for cross-site advertising. We rely on your browser's local and session storage for two functional purposes: to remember your theme choice (light or dark), and to hold your in-progress biodata on your device so a reload does not lose your work. These stay on your device and are not shared. Any analytics we use is configured to be privacy-respecting and does not follow you across other websites.

6. Third-party services we rely on

We deliberately keep our list of third parties short, and choose ones with strong privacy practices:

• Contact form delivery. When you submit the contact form, a reputable form-delivery service passes your message to our email inbox. It acts purely as a messenger for that one message.
• Hosting and content delivery. The website is served through a global hosting and CDN provider, which processes standard technical data (such as IP address) needed to deliver pages securely, as any web host does.
• Fonts and static assets. Typography and similar assets may load from trusted providers to render the site correctly.

Each of these providers handles data under its own privacy policy. Downloading, previewing, and sharing your biodata all happen on your own device and involve no third party.

7. Legal bases for processing

For visitors in the EU, UK, and EEA, we process the limited data above on the following bases: your consent (for example, when you choose to send us a message), our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the website, and where applicable, compliance with a legal obligation. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

8. Data retention

Because your biodata never reaches us, there is nothing for us to retain. For contact messages, we keep them only as long as needed to handle your query and any reasonable follow-up, and then delete them. Aggregate analytics data is retained only in non-identifying form.

9. Security

The site is served over encrypted HTTPS connections. Because the most sensitive information, your biodata, is processed entirely on your device and never transmitted to us, the biggest risk in most tools of this kind simply does not exist here. For the small amount of data we do handle (contact messages), we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it.

10. International users

BiodataMakers is used across South Asia and its diaspora worldwide. Where the limited data we handle is processed in a country different from your own (for example, by our hosting or form provider), we rely on providers that offer appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Your rights

Because we do not hold your biodata, most "delete my data" requests are satisfied simply by closing the tab. Where we do hold something (for example, a contact message), you have the right to access it, correct it, object to its processing, or ask us to erase it. Under the EU and UK GDPR, information revealing religious beliefs or ethnic origin is classed as special-category data with the highest level of protection; under India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023, you have the right to access and erasure. To exercise any right, email info@biodatamakers.online and we will respond within 2 days to 1 week.

12. Do Not Track

Because we do not track you across other websites in the first place, there is nothing for a "Do Not Track" signal to switch off. We honour that spirit by default.

13. Children

BiodataMakers is intended for adults creating marriage biodatas. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves or the law changes. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
